In
1976 DCR principle Duncan Richardson, a Lead Startup Engineer
for Ebasco Services, Inc., at the time, preformed a revolutionizing
procedure to clean six HRSG's at the Beaver Generating Station
in Clatskanie, Oregon in six days. He used a mixture of acid and
inhibitors to dissolve iron oxide to a soluble solution without
attacking parent metal. He cleaned the evaporators as well as
the superheat sections in one step. In the early 80's he used
a revolutionizing circulation process that saved tens of thousands
of dollars in chemical cleaning for all power plant startups that
he directed.
